AIHA’s Product Stewardship Society is excited to unveil John Warner and Linda Lee, PhD, as the keynote speakers for PSX 2024, the Society’s annual meeting scheduled for October 15-17 in Denver, Colorado. Recognized as a premier association for professionals in product stewardship and sustainability, the Society is eager to showcase these distinguished experts.
John Warner, a pioneering figure in Green Chemistry, will deliver the opening keynote on October 15. Warner, who coauthored the seminal book on Green Chemistry with Paula Anastas in 1998, has been instrumental in shaping the field. With over 350 patents and extensive collaborations with companies worldwide, Warner also serves on the sustainability advisory boards of several multinational corporations. His keynote will cover the origins and evolution of Green Chemistry and explore how future materials designers can contribute to a safer and more sustainable world.
Linda S. Lee, PhD, a professor at Purdue University, will present the closing keynote on October 17. Dr. Lee, who holds multiple roles including Assistant Dean of Research and Graduate Education and Program Head for the Ecological Sciences and Engineering Interdisciplinary Graduate Program, has spent two decades researching “compounds of concern,” particularly per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Her presentation will address the challenges posed by emerging alternatives to banned PFAS and the shift in perspective needed for managing these new substances.
Larry Sloan, CEO of AIHA’s Product Stewardship Society, expressed enthusiasm about the keynote speakers: “We’re thrilled to welcome John Warner and Dr. Linda Lee to this year’s conference. Their insights into these crucial topics will greatly benefit product stewards and align with our mission of advancing a world of safe, trusted, and sustainable products.”
