MVP Lithium Ltd. Announces Major In-Situ Lithium Discovery in Canada’s Montney Formation

MVP Lithium Limited, a leader in sustainable lithium extraction solutions, has announced an estimated in-situ lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) resource of 9.9 million tonnes within the Montney Formation in Western Canada, with an average lithium concentration of 55 mg/L across a 37,000-square-kilometer area. This milestone positions MVP Lithium as a significant player in the global lithium market, especially in the context of soaring demand for lithium in clean energy and electric vehicle (EV) batteries.

The company is preparing to submit a NI 43-101 technical report to the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) within 90 days to confirm and formalize the findings. The resource concentration aligns with economically viable extraction methods, paving the way for future site development.

The discovery underscores Western Canada’s potential as a major lithium source, a priority given lithium’s inclusion on Canada’s Critical Minerals List. MVP Lithium’s ongoing development of a high-performance Lithium Metal Anode Battery aims to enhance EV range, offer rapid 10-minute charging, and maintain optimal function in extreme cold—all with a zero-carbon footprint. These innovations contribute to Canada’s 2050 net-zero goals and MVP Lithium’s commitment to responsibly sourced lithium.
