DuPont Finalizes Formation of Qnity™ Board of Directors
DuPont has officially announced a significant advancement in the formation of Qnity Electronics, Inc., the future standalone electronics company to be spun off from DuPont’s core business. The company disclosed that Mark A. Blinn and Dr. Yi Hyon Paik will join the future board of directors of Qnity Electronics (referred to as the “Qnity Board”). This announcement signifies the finalization of Qnity’s leadership structure and further propels DuPont’s broader strategic vision to create a high-performance electronics company focused exclusively on innovation in semiconductor and electronic materials.
DuPont Mark A. Blinn, who will assume the position of Chairman of the Qnity Board upon the spin-off’s completion, brings extensive executive leadership and corporate governance experience. Mr. Blinn previously served as Chief Executive Officer, President, and Director of Flowserve Corporation, a global leader in industrial and engineered solutions, until his retirement in 2017. In addition to his past operational leadership, Blinn currently holds board positions at Texas Instruments—a leading semiconductor manufacturer—as well as Emerson Electric Co. and Globe Life Inc. His long-standing involvement in the electronics and manufacturing sectors makes him an invaluable strategic leader for Qnity Electronics.
Dr. Yi Hyon Paik, who also joins the Qnity Board, is widely respected in the field of electronics materials and semiconductors, bringing over two decades of deep operational and strategic experience. He formerly served as President and Chief Strategy Officer of Samsung SDI and held the role of Executive Vice President and Head of the Electronics Materials Business at Samsung Cheil Industries. His earlier career includes pivotal leadership roles at The Dow Chemical Company and Rohm & Haas. Currently, Dr. Paik is a member of the Board of Directors of Orion S.A., a specialty chemicals company, and also serves as an advisor to RecycLiCo Battery Materials Inc., further underscoring his broad influence in next-generation materials and sustainable technologies.
“I am delighted that Mark and Yi Hyon will join the future board of Qnity. We look forward to their invaluable insights and the role they will play in advising and guiding the future company’s success as a pure play electronics company,” said Alexander M. Cutler, Lead Independent Director at DuPont. “Both bring a depth of executive experience and industry knowledge of the semiconductor sector that complements the diverse set of skills we’ve assembled in creating the future Qnity Board.”
The composition of the Qnity Board reflects a deliberate and strategic effort to build a world-class leadership team with broad expertise in technology, operations, strategy, academia, and governance. The final Qnity Board of Directors will comprise:

Qnity Electronics, once spun off, is expected to emerge as a pure-play public electronics company specializing in advanced materials critical to the semiconductor, electronics, and next-generation computing industries. This spin-off strategy enables DuPont to sharpen its focus on core segments such as water, healthcare, and industrial technologies, while giving Qnity the autonomy and agility to scale its electronics business independently.
The decision to spin off Qnity Electronics was rooted in DuPont’s commitment to unlocking shareholder value and enhancing strategic clarity across its portfolio. With Qnity’s independent governance framework now solidified, the new board will provide crucial oversight as the company executes its growth strategy, invests in innovation, and deepens customer relationships in key global markets.
The leadership structure of Qnity has been carefully curated to support its growth agenda, with board members offering diverse and complementary skill sets—from academic innovation and sustainability to semiconductor manufacturing, operations, and strategic finance. Together, the board aims to steer Qnity through its formative years as a public company and into a phase of robust expansion and industry leadership.
With headquarters to be located in the heart of a leading technology hub, Qnity Electronics will also benefit from proximity to global semiconductor clusters, innovation ecosystems, and research institutions. This geographical positioning is expected to facilitate ongoing talent recruitment, partnership development, and R&D collaborations.
The completion of the Qnity Board of Directors is a pivotal milestone in the spin-off process, setting the stage for an empowered leadership team to guide the new company into the future. Through targeted investments, breakthrough materials science, and a relentless focus on customer outcomes, Qnity aims to redefine its position in the global electronics landscape.
In summary, the appointment of Mark A. Blinn as Chairman and Dr. Yi Hyon Paik as Director not only strengthens Qnity’s leadership framework but also exemplifies DuPont’s strategic rigor in assembling a board equipped to meet the evolving needs of the high-growth, high-tech electronics industry. This board will play a crucial role in shaping Qnity’s trajectory—from launch through long-term value creation—focusing on technological leadership, operational excellence, and sustainable innovation.
