Bona Becomes Official Sponsor of the Nordic Pavilion at World Expo 2025
Bona, a globally recognized, family-owned company that specializes in premium flooring solutions, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Nordic Pavilion at the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan. As part of its role as a sponsor, will contribute 600 square meters of high-quality oak wood flooring for the pavilion, including the glue-down installation and the necessary maintenance products. This sponsorship is made possible in collaboration with Okabe Co. Ltd., exclusive distributor in Japan.
Pontus Forssell, Managing Director of Far East & Pacific, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “The World Expo is the perfect opportunity for and Okabe to highlight our long-standing collaboration in the Japanese marketplace and showcase the strength and capability of products and customer support, which will ensure beautiful floors throughout the entire exhibition.”
The World Expo 2025, which will run from April 13 to October 13, 2025, is expected to attract an estimated 28 million visitors, including around 1.7 million who are projected to visit the Nordic Pavilion. This pavilion will be home to several Nordic countries and companies, which will showcase the region’s latest advancements under the theme “Together Towards a Better Future.”
Bona’s contribution to the pavilion will include oak floors that are pre-finished with UV Stain and Bona, UV Commercial Finish. The installation will be carried out by Certified Contractors from Okabe Co. Ltd., who will use Quantum® T, a silane-based wood floor adhesive, ensuring that the floors are both durable and visually stunning. Given the expected high foot traffic, the floors will undergo regular maintenance by Okabe Co. Ltd.
To maintain their pristine condition, maintenance team will use the Power Scrubber and Deep Clean Solution to deep clean the floors. Following that, Preserver Plus will be applied to refresh and protect the surface. For daily upkeep Premium Spray Mops, Cleaners, and Cleaning Pads will be used, ensuring that the floors always look immaculate.
Forssell also emphasized the significance of this collaboration, aligning with the expo’s focus on sustainability and innovation. Given the focus on the future of innovation and sustainability at this year’s World Expo, it was a natural fit for Bona to contribute as a sponsor. The Nordic Pavilion’s theme, which emphasizes designing a better future, aligns with core values and our vision to lead the sustainability transformation of our industry.

In addition to providing flooring for the pavilion and Okabe Co. Ltd. have planned a series of exciting events over the course of the six-month expo. A special event on May 8 will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Certified Contractors in Japan, inviting local customers, architects, and specialists to explore latest innovations. In September, will host a gathering of distributors from the Asia-Pacific region for a series of events and strategic discussions.
