The Bakti Barito Foundation and STiR Education have announced a significant expansion of their teacher training program to Garut Regency, with the goal of improving educational outcomes by fostering intrinsic motivation among educators and school leaders. This collaboration follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Garut Department of Education and the Bakti Barito Foundation.
The program will empower teachers, school principals, and supervisors across primary schools (SD) in the regency. A key focus will be on enhancing instructional leadership among school supervisors and principals, helping to establish sustainable professional learning communities for teachers, known locally as Komunitas Belajar.
STiR Education’s innovative approach is designed to ignite a passion for teaching and learning, which is expected to enhance student learning outcomes and elevate the overall quality of education in the region. This expansion aligns with the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Emancipated Curriculum), Indonesia’s national curriculum, formally adopted in March 2024. By providing essential classroom-based support to school supervisors and principals, the program will be instrumental in ensuring the curriculum’s successful execution.
This collaboration will span two years and forms part of a broader commitment by both organizations to raise education standards in Indonesia.
“We are excited to collaborate with STiR Education to expand this program to Garut Regency,” stated Dian A. Purbasari, Director of Bakti Barito Foundation. “Our shared vision is to empower teachers and equip them with the necessary tools and support for success, ultimately benefiting students and communities.”
Yoni Nurdiansyah, Executive Director of the Bakti Barito-STiR Programme in Indonesia, added, “This partnership exemplifies our commitment to igniting the intrinsic motivation of teachers, and we look forward to making a meaningful impact on the educational landscape in Garut.”tive.
