The Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) has announced that Wesfarmers Arts will become its Principal Partner, beginning with the ACO’s 2025 Season, which coincides with the Orchestra’s 50th anniversary.
This partnership builds on a longstanding relationship between the two organizations that began nearly 30 years ago. Wesfarmers first collaborated with the ACO in 1998 as the ‘Perth Series Sponsor,’ helping to present the Orchestra’s annual concert series in Perth. In 2014, the partnership expanded to support ACO Collective, the Orchestra’s education and regional touring ensemble.
“We are thrilled that Wesfarmers Arts has become the Principal Partner of the ACO,” said ACO Chair Martyn Myer AO. “Wesfarmers Arts has been instrumental in establishing the ACO as a truly national touring ensemble, supporting our concert series in Perth and the regional touring activities of ACO Collective. As Principal Partner, Wesfarmers Arts will provide crucial support, enabling us to enhance and expand our national, regional, and international touring schedule, allowing more audiences in Australia and around the world to experience our world-class performances.”
Wesfarmers Chairman Michael Chaney AO echoed these sentiments, stating, “After nearly three decades of partnership to bring the ACO’s superb musicians to Western Australia and regional communities across the country, we are now delighted to become the Principal Partner of this world-class orchestra. The ACO’s contribution to the cultural life of our nation, both at home and on the global stage, is immense.”
Through its Wesfarmers Arts program, Wesfarmers supports a diverse range of Australian arts organizations across music, visual arts, theater, and dance. In addition to its partnership with the ACO, Wesfarmers Arts is involved with numerous premier arts organizations and curates The Wesfarmers Collection of Australian Art, which spans works from the 1800s to today, including painting, photography, sculpture, and digital media.
