Wanhua Chemical Unveils Cutting-Edge Material Solutions at Fakuma 2024

The international plastics trade fair, Fakuma 2024, has begun at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Center in Germany, where Wanhua Chemical is showcasing its range of innovative products and material solutions for various industries, including baby care, consumer goods, automotive, medical, and green low-carbon recycling. The company highlighted key materials such as PSU/PPSU, PA12, POE, PEBA, XLPE, and PCR, introducing Wanafone® PSU/PPSU, a newly developed polysulfone polymer with outstanding heat resistance, mechanical strength, hydrolysis stability, and chemical resistance. These materials are ideal for use in baby bottles, medical devices, food-contact consumer goods, and household appliances like coffee machines and plumbing fixtures.

POE: Wanhua’s POE materials offer excellent performance in photovoltaic encapsulation films, automotive modifications, cables, and footwear foam. POE-based films provide superior water vapor barrier properties, weather resistance, and PID resistance, enhancing the efficiency and longevity of photovoltaic modules. Additionally, POE’s lightweight properties and compatibility with PP make it suitable for automotive applications such as bumpers, airbags, and sound insulation mats.

PA12: Through an integrated industrial platform, Wanhua has achieved full control over the PA12 value chain, including production of nylon 12 resin and elastomers. Wanhamid® PA12 offers low density, toughness at low temperatures, impact resistance, and chemical durability, making it ideal for applications in electric vehicles, subsea cables, and additive manufacturing.

TPU: High-performance aliphatic TPU film solutions provide transparency, thermal aging resistance, and UV durability for automotive surfaces. In footwear, TPU is used for textile uppers, foamed midsoles, and outsoles, thanks to its non-yellowing and high-rebound properties. It also excels in cable applications, addressing issues such as bending, low-temperature cracking, and aging in charging cables.

PMMA: Wanhua’s optical-grade PMMA offers high transparency (≥92% light transmittance), scratch resistance, gloss, and hardness, making it suitable for automotive, lighting, home furnishing, and medical uses.

PEBA: WANELITE® PEBA elastomers combine low density with elasticity and strength, providing excellent torsion control for medical catheters and flexibility for high-end sports footwear and industrial products.

XLPE: The company’s XLPE materials offer ultra-high purity, thermal stability, and crosslinking ability, making them suitable for ultra-high-voltage and specialty cables.

PCR: Waneco® PCR is made from recycled materials like panels and headlights, reducing carbon emissions by 20-80% without compromising quality. It supports sustainable development in automotive and electronics sectors, promoting low-carbon solutions across diverse applications.
