Trex Company, the world’s top manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing, is advancing its exclusive distribution strategy to include its railing products, bolstering its partnerships across North America. Trex’s exclusivity model, traditionally dual or triple-distribution, encourages competitive pricing and steady availability, with ongoing expansion in the Western U.S.
Since late 2024, two major distributors for Trex decking products have become exclusive carriers of Trex’s extended railing lineup, which now includes options like premium cable and specialty glass systems. Snavely Forest Products will distribute Trex railing exclusively nationwide, adding service areas in Colorado by early 2025. Boise Cascade, a key distributor of building products, will offer only Trex decking and railing in participating locations, increasing distribution in New Jersey and nearby areas.
Trex recently ended its distribution relationship with Capital Lumber in the Western U.S. due to its commitment to exclusive partnerships that support both decking and railing success. Trex’s CEO Bryan Fairbanks emphasized that the company’s exclusivity strategy aims to increase market penetration, aiming to double its share in the $3.3 billion North American residential railing market within five years.
For over 30 years, Trex has led the industry with eco-friendly, low-maintenance outdoor living products and has a strong retail network across 6,700 outlets globally. Recognized as America’s Most Trusted Outdoor Decking brand, Trex continues to expand its product offerings through strategic partnerships and licensing agreements.
