Stratasys and Shin-Etsu Launch P3™ Silicone 25A for High-Performance Industrial 3D Printing
Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) has officially launched P3™ Silicone 25A, a next-generation 3D printing material developed in collaboration with Shin-Etsu, a global leader in silicone technology. Engineered exclusively for the Stratasys Origin® DLP platform, this general-purpose silicone enables the direct production of flexible, high-quality parts that match the performance of traditionally molded silicone—without the constraints of tooling or lengthy production cycles.
The release of P3 Silicone 25A addresses a major challenge in industrial additive manufacturing: the lack of a true silicone material that delivers both the precision and repeatability required for production-grade parts. Offering exceptional chemical resistance, thermal stability, and durable mechanical properties, the material allows manufacturers to bypass the time and cost associated with injection molding. It supports low-volume, localized production while maintaining consistency and accuracy.
Key performance highlights include:
- Validation in thermal aging tests of up to 1,000 hours at 150°C
- Certification for biocompatibility and flame retardancy
- Compatibility with critical applications such as gaskets, seals, dampers, wearables, and soft-touch components
“Additive manufacturing at the production level depends on specialty materials that meet or exceed the performance of traditional processes,” said Rich Garrity, Chief Business Unit Officer at Stratasys. “P3 Silicone 25A delivers on that need—offering manufacturers the agility of additive with the proven durability of real silicone.”
Stratasys and Shin-Etsu aim to expand this product line, with more hardness variants and application-specific silicones planned. The current launch is the first in a portfolio of silicone solutions targeting high-performance end-use parts.
“We’re proud to partner with Stratasys to introduce 3D-printable silicone that combines excellent reliability with high-definition printability,” said Makoto Ohara, Head of Sales and Marketing Department S4 at Shin-Etsu Silicones Europe B.V. “P3 Silicone 25A is true silicone in both its composition and its capabilities.”
P3 Silicone 25A is now available for order in EMEA and APAC regions, with availability in the Americas expected later in the year.
