Stratasys Launches DentaJet™ XL for High-Quality Dental Model Production

Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) has announced the launch of the DentaJet™ XL, a groundbreaking addition to their dental 3D printing technology lineup. This new high-speed 3D printer, part of the DentaJet series, is designed to enhance dental lab productivity and reduce costs with features like larger resin cartridges, an expansive print tray, Super High-Speed mode, and a streamlined post-processing workflow. Ronen Lebi, Vice President of Stratasys Dental, stated, “The DentaJet XL is tailored for digital dental labs that need to produce high volumes without compromising quality, addressing the challenges of finding and retaining skilled technicians amidst growing market demands. It’s our most efficient production solution to date, capable of producing highly accurate crown and bridge, implant, and aligner models, and surgical guides simultaneously at scale.”

The PolyJet™ multi-material 3D printer is optimized for production settings with minimal human intervention. Its advanced software for print preparation and management, along with unattended printing and curing, can cut labor costs by up to 90 percent. The new printing modes and larger cartridges can lower the cost per part by up to 67%. The printer supports integration with validated, fast, and large batch post-processing workflows for support removal, and it can print with two materials simultaneously. This boosts lab productivity and reduces costs, making it an ideal solution for large-scale production labs globally.

James Dobson, Vice President of Digital Production at Dobson Ortho Laboratories, one of the first to adopt the DentaJet XL, noted, “Incorporating the DentaJet XL has greatly improved our digital workflow. With its large print tray, 4X larger resin cartridges, and hot-swap capabilities, we’ve seen significant savings in material and labor. The automatic part nesting features have made job creation quick and easy, and its sealed resin system ensures a healthier workplace for our team.”

Prof. Armando Razionale from Airnivol, an early European customer, commented, “The new Super High-Speed Mode has allowed us to increase our clear aligner production by nearly 50% without additional labor and at a much-reduced cost per part. Integrating the DentaJet XL with the automatic support removal workflow has saved us considerable time and labor in the final production stage, essentially adding a virtual lab technician to our team.”

Early DentaJet XL adopters have reported impressive production results:

  • Up to 16 implant cases (surgical guide and model) in 6 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Up to 102 crown & bridge models in 4 hours and 31 minutes.
  • Up to 28 orthodontic models in 6 hours and 37 minutes.
  • Up to 36 aligner arches in 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Key features of the DentaJet XL include:

  • Continuous printing for large jobs with 4kg resin cartridges and hot-swap capabilities.
  • Reduced print preparation times and integrated fleet management via the intuitive GrabCAD Print software.
  • A 30% increase in production speed for clear aligner arches with Super High-Speed mode.
  • Dual-material printing to boost output by printing two materials simultaneously.
  • Efficient post-processing with integrated third-party workflows for large batch support removal, streamlining processes and saving time and labor.
