How SDC Works

SDC effectively kills microorganisms through two mechanisms: first, the silver ion deactivates structural and metabolic membrane proteins, resulting in microbial death; second, microbes perceive SDC as a food source, allowing the silver ion to enter the organism. Once inside, the silver ion denatures the DNA, stopping the microbe’s ability to replicate and leading to its demise. This dual-action approach makes SDC highly effective against a broad range of microbes. Unlike traditional silver-based disinfectants that have short shelf lives—ranging from hours to days—SDC is a stabilized silver ion complex with a shelf life of several years. The unique bond between the silver ions in SDC ensures they remain in solution while enhancing their bioavailability for antimicrobial action.
