PPG recently inducted five distinguished members into its Collegium, an association that honors PPG leaders who have significantly contributed to the company’s growth and technological advancements.
David Bem, PPG’s Senior Vice President of Science and Technology, praised the inductees, stating, “We are honored to recognize the great minds of PPG that allow us to serve our customers better today than yesterday, every day.” These individuals have made transformative contributions throughout their careers and continue to influence innovation within the company.
The 2024 inductees include:
- Sue Campbell: Known for her work in advancing PPG’s global analytical capabilities, Campbell developed methods that improved the characterization of polymeric materials, which supported product development and deepened the company’s understanding of commercial raw materials.
- Khushroo Lakdawala: With expertise in aerospace transparencies, Lakdawala has made significant contributions to engineering and holds 20 U.S. patents, cementing his reputation as a leader in the aerospace industry.
- Patrick O’Neill: O’Neill co-invented lead-free electrocoat technology and played a key role in establishing PPG’s automotive coatings alliance with Kansai. His leadership in global product management and technical roles has had a lasting impact on the company.
- Krishna Uprety: Uprety’s 27 patents, including collaborations with the U.S. Navy and Lockheed Martin, have expanded PPG’s commercial and military opportunities, demonstrating his critical role in the company’s technological advancements.
- Rob Walters: A key figure in the development of UniversalPHOLED® materials, Walters holds 56 patents in various fields, including photochromic and electrochromic materials. He led the development of Transitions® lenses and contributed to multiple generations of photochromic products.
