PPG to Showcase Sustainable Automotive Manufacturing Solutions at CARES 2024 Congress

PPG (NYSE: PPG) has announced its participation in the 2024 CARES congresses, where it will showcase sustainable solutions for automotive manufacturing. The events will take place in Dearborn, Michigan, from October 23-24, and in Paris, from November 13-14.

The CARES congress is a two-day event dedicated to sustainable automotive manufacturing, offering a platform for manufacturers and suppliers to exchange ideas and discuss strategies for more eco-friendly production processes.

In the U.S. segment, PPG will highlight its paint film solutions, which offer significant environmental benefits such as reduced energy consumption during vehicle application compared to traditional liquid paints, along with enhanced aesthetic options. These solutions are also adaptable to various other industrial applications.

At the European event, PPG will collaborate with Stellantis to present advancements in electrocoat technology aimed at improving sustainability in automotive OEM paint shops. Since paint shops are typically the most energy-intensive areas in automotive manufacturing, PPG’s solutions, like the PPG ENVIRO-PRIME® EPIC 300 electrocoat, enable faster curing at lower temperatures, helping to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

“Sustainability is central to PPG’s mission to protect and beautify the world,” said Thierry Destruhaut, PPG’s global customer sustainability business partner for Automotive OEM Coatings. “As the automotive industry rapidly evolves, sustainability remains a key focus for our customers. We support this transformation with a comprehensive range of industry-leading materials, including battery cell components, adhesives, sealants, films, and coatings.
