PPG has announced its commitment to support WorldSkills Europe (WSE) as a Premium Sponsor for 2024-25. WorldSkills Europe is a vocational skills organization dedicated to promoting vocational, technological, and service-oriented education and training across Europe. It collaborates with young people, educators, governments, and industries to prepare the future workforce for emerging jobs.
The partnership was celebrated by Guillaume Suteau, board chair of WorldSkills Europe, and Pascal Tisseyre, PPG vice president of government affairs for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. WorldSkills Europe organizes EuroSkills, the largest vocational education and skills excellence event in Europe, where hundreds of young people from 33 countries compete in various skills and professions, including painting and decorating.
Guillaume Suteau praised the collaboration with PPG, highlighting the company’s recognition of the importance of skills in industry development and innovation. Pascal Tisseyre emphasized PPG’s commitment to shaping the future of the industry by addressing the skilled workforce shortage, promoting youth participation, and fostering talent development.
PPG’s support for WorldSkills Lyon 2024 was also mentioned, where the company will provide financial support, products, and expertise for the painting and decorating skill category, including SEIGNEURIE® paints by PPG.
This partnership is part of PPG’s broader commitment to supporting education and workforce development initiatives, including a $2 million investment announced in 2023 to support programs providing training, curriculum development, and career readiness resources for students and educators.
