PPG Honored as ‘Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion’ for Third Straight Year

PPG (NYSE: PPG) proudly announced its recognition as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” by the DISABILITY EQUALITY INDEX® for the third consecutive year. This index, launched in 2015 through a collaboration between Disability

and The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), is the leading assessment tool for disability inclusion in business. In its 10th year, the index evaluated 542 corporations, including 220 Fortune 500 companies, on their disability inclusion efforts. Companies scoring 80 or higher are honored as top performers, with PPG achieving the highest possible score of 100.

“Our diverse workforce is one of our greatest strengths, and we continuously strive to make PPG an inclusive workplace for everyone,” said Robert Massy, PPG Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “Globally, there are 1.3 billion people with disabilities. Ensuring equitable experiences for all our employees enhances engagement, boosts business performance, and creates more opportunities for everyone.”

“Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Disability Equality Index, we commend the 542 national and international companies that lead the way in disability inclusion,” said Jill Houghton, President and CEO of Disability.

“Their commitment to inclusive workplaces not only attracts top talent but also drives innovation and sustainable performance in today’s global market. Together, we are building a future where everyone can thrive.”

PPG’s Abilities First Network (AFN), established in 2020, is one of eight global employee resource networks (ERNs) aimed at supporting people with disabilities. The AFN provides resources for PPG employees with disabilities and educates local communities on empowering individuals to reach their full potential. As of June 2024, the network included nearly 1,200 members across 43 countries.

Highlights of PPG’s recent disability inclusion efforts include:

  • Sponsoring global webcasts for World Mental Health Day (October 2023) and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness (March 2024).
  • Hosting Inclusive Workplace Training sessions with Best Buddies International to raise awareness about disabilities and promote greater acceptance and inclusion.
  • Engaging in community projects through PPG’s COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program to support community resources for people with disabilities.

“As our partners at Disability

Often emphasize, there is no ‘right way’ to practice inclusion. I am proud of PPG employees’ efforts worldwide to build an equitable, inclusive culture,” said Massy. “The Disability Equality Index has been invaluable in validating our efforts, and I look forward to our continued progress.”
