
PPG Announces Planned Retirement of Adriana Macouzet and Leadership Appointments Across the Americas
PPG (NYSE: PPG) today announced the planned retirement of Adriana Macouzet, vice president, PPG Latin America, and general manager, protective and marine coatings (PMC), Latin America. Macouzet will retire effective April 30, 2026, concluding a distinguished 40-year career with the company. In conjunction with her retirement, PPG also announced a series of leadership changes designed to support continued growth and strengthen the company’s operations across the Americas.
Leadership Transitions to Support Regional Growth
Following Macouzet’s retirement, PPG will implement changes to its leadership structure in the Americas to ensure continuity, enhance collaboration across regions, and maintain strong customer focus.
Jennifer Solcz, currently vice president, protective and marine coatings, United States and Canada (USCA), will assume the expanded role of vice president, protective and marine coatings, Americas, effective April 30, 2026. In this role, Solcz will oversee the PMC business across both the United States and Canada as well as Latin America. She will continue to report to Amy Ericson, senior vice president, protective and marine coatings.
In addition, Javier Sosa Mejía, vice president, architectural coatings, Latin America, and president, PPG Comex, will expand his responsibilities and be named president, PPG Latin America, effective January 1, 2026. Sosa will continue to report to Henrik Bergström, senior vice president, global architectural coatings.
PPG Leadership Commends Macouzet’s Four-Decade Career

Throughout her four decades with PPG, she has also served as a mentor to many PPG employees, and her leadership and dedication will be missed. We wish Adriana all the best in her well-deserved retirement.”
He also congratulated Solcz and Sosa on their expanded roles, noting that their leadership will be critical to the company’s future success. “Their continued strong leadership will be key as we maintain our focus on growing our business and serving our customers throughout Latin America and within the PMC business across the Americas.”
Adriana Macouzet’s Career Journey at PPG
Macouzet joined PPG in 1984 as a paint formulator in Mexico, beginning a career marked by technical expertise, operational leadership and regional business development. Early in her tenure, she advanced through a variety of roles within the automotive coatings business, including positions in pretreatment, operations planning, and sales and marketing.
In 1995, Macouzet relocated to Argentina, where she was instrumental in developing new business opportunities in Latin America South. She returned to Mexico in 1998 to serve as an account manager for major automotive customers, including Ford and General Motors. Her leadership capabilities continued to expand, and in 2005 she was named sales and marketing manager, automotive coatings, Latin America.
Macouzet was appointed director, automotive and industrial coatings, Mexico, in 2008 and later served as general manager, automotive coatings, Mexico. In 2012, she was named general manager, Latin America North. Her career culminated in 2016 when she was appointed vice president, Latin America, and general manager, PMC, Latin America.
In this role, Macouzet provided regional leadership for PPG’s Latin American operations, excluding PPG Comex, while also maintaining direct accountability for the PMC business across the region. A native of Mexico, she holds a chemical engineering degree from La Salle University in Mexico City and a business administration degree from Michigan State University.
Jennifer Solcz to Lead Protective and Marine Coatings Across the Americas
Jennifer Solcz joined PPG in 2018 as global segments director for wheel coatings, where she successfully developed and executed a global strategy that delivered strong financial results. Her leadership and strategic insight led to her promotion in 2020 to Americas general manager for auto parts.
In that role, Solcz guided the business to achieve record sales and profitability while advancing operational excellence and enhancing customer satisfaction. In her current position as vice president, protective and marine coatings, USCA, she has focused on aligning strategy and execution to drive sustainable growth and long-term value for customers and partners.
Solcz studied biochemistry and business at Goucher College and the University of Windsor. She holds a CPA license in Ontario, Canada, and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Lawrence Technological University.
Javier Sosa Mejía Expands Role as President, PPG Latin America
Javier Sosa Mejía joined PPG in November 2014 following the company’s acquisition of Comex. Since then, he has held a series of roles with increasing responsibility, including retail experience and design manager, product manager, B2B marketing director, and B2B commercial director.
Throughout his tenure, Sosa has consistently contributed to the strategic growth of PPG Comex and the broader architectural coatings business in the region. In previous roles, he also held responsibility for the protective and marine coatings and traffic solutions businesses in Mexico and Central America.
In his current role as vice president, architectural coatings, Latin America, and president, PPG Comex, Sosa oversees PPG’s architectural coatings operations across Mexico, Central America and Brazil. The business serves customers through the Comex concessionaires’ network as well as other distribution channels, including home centers, supermarkets and hardware stores.
