Graham Corporation, a global leader in mission-critical fluid, power, heat transfer, and vacuum technologies for the defense, space, energy, and process industries, has announced plans to build an advanced cryogenic propellant testing facility in Florida near its P3 Technologies, LLC subsidiary. This new facility will leverage Graham’s deep expertise in cryogenics and space launch systems to address the growing demand for scalable, efficient testing solutions across Space, Defense, New Energy, and potential medical applications.
Designed to provide a timely, cost-effective alternative to existing testing centers, the facility will support testing for liquid hydrogen (LH2), liquid oxygen (LOX), and liquid methane (LCH4) under pressurized, sub-cooled, or saturated conditions. This capability will allow testing of pumps, components, fluid management systems, and combustion devices, expanding Graham’s support for diverse customer needs and future program requirements.
“This new testing facility will enhance our position as a trusted partner, offering critical cryogenic propellant testing that complements our existing capabilities,” said Dan Thoren, Graham Corporation President and CEO. “This investment emphasizes our commitment to innovation and positions us to better serve the Space, Defense, and New Energy sectors.”
Construction is expected to complete within a year, with initial testing projected to start by mid-2025. Graham anticipates a cash payback period of two to three years and an internal rate of return exceeding 20%, marking a strategic investment in its growth and industry leadership.
