Graco Inc. Names Sanjiv Gupta CFO and Treasurer as David M. Lowe Retires

Graco Inc. has announced the appointment of Sanjiv Gupta as its next Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective April 15, 2026. He will succeed David M. Lowe, who recently shared his plans to retire following a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years with the company.

Gupta joins Graco from General Motors Company (NYSE: GM), where he built an extensive career over more than two decades, holding a variety of senior finance and operational leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GM International, overseeing financial strategy and operations across diverse global markets. His tenure at General Motors also included key positions such as Executive Director of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis and President and Managing Director of GM India. Earlier in his career, Gupta held operational roles at Nestlé, further broadening his experience in global manufacturing and supply chain operations.

In his new role at Graco, Gupta will be responsible for leading the company’s global finance organization, overseeing financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, investor relations, and other key financial functions. His appointment reflects Graco’s focus on strengthening its financial leadership as it continues to pursue strategic growth initiatives and expand its global footprint.

Mark W. Sheahan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Graco, expressed strong confidence in Gupta’s leadership capabilities and global perspective. He emphasized Gupta’s proven track record of leading complex international finance and commercial teams, as well as his deep knowledge of the manufacturing sector—an important area for Graco and its customers.

“Sanjiv has an established track record of leading global finance and commercial teams,” Sheahan said. “He brings a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry, including an important end market served by Graco. I am excited for Sanjiv to leverage his finance and operational experiences to help accelerate our strategies to inflect top line growth.”

Gupta’s background uniquely positions him to contribute to Graco’s long-term objectives. Throughout his career, he has developed significant expertise in corporate finance, strategic planning, operations management, manufacturing processes, and supply chain optimization. His leadership experience across multiple geographies is expected to support Graco’s continued efforts to enhance operational efficiency and drive sustainable revenue growth worldwide.

Academically, Gupta holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from Thapar University in Patiala, India. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at Western University in London, Canada. His strong educational foundation, combined with decades of hands-on executive experience, provides a well-rounded skill set for his new leadership responsibilities.

David M. Lowe, who is stepping down from the CFO and Treasurer position, has served in the role since 2021. Over his more than three decades with Graco, Lowe held a range of operational and financial leadership roles that significantly influenced the company’s strategic direction and growth. He joined Graco in 1995 and has been widely recognized within the organization for his steady leadership, deep institutional knowledge, and commitment to mentoring the next generation of leaders.

Sheahan praised Lowe’s substantial contributions to the company and highlighted the lasting impact of his leadership. “Throughout his career at Graco, David has provided incredible vision and leadership,” Sheahan said. “His unwavering loyalty to the company, his professionalism, and his exceptional work ethic have set a powerful example for all who have worked with him. David has mentored countless employees over the years – including me – and his steady guidance and deep understanding of our business have shaped leaders across the organization.”

Sheahan further noted that Lowe’s insights have been invaluable both personally and professionally, underscoring the important role he has played in shaping Graco’s financial discipline and operational excellence. On behalf of the company’s global workforce, Sheahan expressed gratitude for Lowe’s decades of service and extended best wishes for his retirement.

To ensure a smooth and orderly transition, Lowe will remain available to assist the company through the end of May 2026. This transition period is intended to provide continuity in leadership and allow Gupta to fully integrate into his new role while benefiting from Lowe’s experience and institutional knowledge.
