Dexerials Corporation (TOKYO:4980) has announced a capital and business alliance with SemsoTec Group, a German automotive design-focused group, to expand its European automotive business. The collaboration aims to strengthen Dexerials’ presence in Europe by leveraging SemsoTec’s expertise in Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems, which include complex in-vehicle displays and touch-oriented solutions used in automotive, smart home, and high-end consumer applications.
On October 1, 2024, Dexerials completed an €8 million investment in two subsidiaries of SemsoTec Holding GmbH, establishing them as equity-method affiliates. This strategic alliance aligns with Dexerials’ 2024 Mid-term Management Plan, which targets significant growth in its automotive sector sales, particularly in Europe’s dynamic automotive design and innovation landscape.
Since beginning collaboration in 2020, Dexerials and SemsoTec have integrated Dexerials’ optical elastic resin (SVR) into SemsoTec’s in-vehicle display designs. This resin, along with new coating and lamination equipment introduced by Dexerials in 2023, enables prototypes and customized displays for automotive clients across Europe. These display solutions, which include curved and irregular shapes, reflect emerging trends in vehicle display technology.
Dexerials and SemsoTec will collaborate to engage major OEMs and tier-one suppliers, using SemsoTec’s extensive European network and customer base to pursue new business opportunities. The companies also plan to enter the Asian market by developing design and material solutions that cater to tier-two display manufacturers.
The partnership further solidifies Dexerials’ commitment to advancing automotive digital technology solutions, supporting the evolution of sustainable and electrified vehicle trends globally. This alliance also reinforces both companies’ commitment to high-quality solutions, customer satisfaction, and new business growth without constraints on each other’s expansion potential.
