Clariant Unveils Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Plastic Industry Advancement at NPE2024
CHARLOTTE, NC, May 6, 2024 – Clariant is proud to introduce its latest advancements aimed at revolutionizing the plastics industry for enhanced safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability at NPE2024, presently underway in Orlando, Florida.

Clariant’s groundbreaking AddWorks PPA, a PFAS-free Additives line, takes center stage at NPE2024. This revolutionary product range is tailored for the polyolefin film extrusion market, boasting smooth and stable processability while ensuring superior optical film qualities, including haze, gloss, and clarity. By eliminating issues like sharkskin and dye build-up effects, AddWorks PPA maintains film tensile, mechanical, and sealing properties, all while exhibiting high thermal stability and minimal migration, with low let down ratios (LDRs) for cost-effectiveness.

In response to growing environmental concerns surrounding PFAS persistence, Clariant’s AddWorks PPA range contains no inorganic or silicone components, ensuring both eco-friendliness and high performance. Scheduled for a Spring 2024 launch worldwide, AddWorks PPA marks a significant stride towards sustainable plastic processing.
Another highlight is Clariant’s introduction of Licolub PED 1316, a wax designed to facilitate smoother processing and enhance surface properties in building and construction applications. This oxidized high-density polyethylene (HDPE) wax promises improved flow and surface characteristics for PVC processing, enabling the production of profiles with enhanced scratch resistance and uniformity. Licolub PED 1316’s consistent particle size ensures easy processing and a pristine, optically white appearance.

Licolub PED 1316 is readily available in the Americas, with domestic production facilitating swift sampling and supply.
Clariant further expands its additive portfolio with AddWorks PKG 158, tailored for color protection and thermal oxidative stability in plastic recycling. With the surge in recycled material usage, Clariant brings AddWorks PKG 158 to the NORAM region, offering a highly efficient antioxidant solution that safeguards color integrity while mitigating thermal oxidative degradation during polymer conversion processes.

With its enhanced processing stabilization at elevated temperatures and minimal migration properties, AddWorks PKG 158 ensures reduced discoloration and plate-out.
