Cintas Joplin Facility Earns VPP Star Certification from OSHA
Cintas Corporation’s Joplin, Missouri, rental division has been awarded the prestigious VPP Star Certification by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), recognizing its exceptional commitment to workplace safety.
The Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) Star certification is granted to workplaces that have demonstrated exemplary health and safety management systems. To earn the VPP Star, companies must show injury and illness rates at or below industry averages, along with effective hazard control measures, comprehensive safety training, and active management and employee involvement.
Brent Witthuhn, Site Manager at Cintas Joplin, expressed gratitude for the recognition: “We are truly honored to receive this prestigious distinction. This achievement is the result of our team’s ongoing dedication to safety, and we remain committed to continuously improving our safety culture.”
This certification marks a significant accomplishment for Cintas, with 131 of its facilities nationwide earning the VPP Star as of August 2024—leading the industry in safety certifications. Stephen Jenkins, Vice President of Health and Safety at Cintas, noted, “Achieving VPP certification requires a collaborative effort across all levels, and we are proud of our employees’ contributions to maintaining such high standards.”
The VPP Star program is a testament to OSHA’s recognition of companies and their employees who work together to create safer workplaces. To maintain their VPP Star status, certified companies are reassessed every three to five years.
