Cedo, a global leader in sustainable FMCG private label solutions, has reached a new milestone in its strategic journey by acquiring Plasta Group, one of Europe’s largest polyethylene recyclers, producers, and suppliers of sustainable plastic products. This acquisition comes on the heels of Cedo’s purchase last summer of Vinatic, a prominent flexible plastic recycler in Vietnam, further solidifying the company’s commitment to driving circularity in the plastics industry.
Plasta Group, headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, has an impressive 60-year legacy and operates modern manufacturing plants in Lithuania and Sweden. The group employs over 500 skilled professionals and is recognized as a sustainability leader, annually recycling more than 45,000 tons of post-consumer waste plastic and producing over 36,000 tons of refuse sacks and film products. Plasta holds several prestigious certifications, including EcoVadis Silver, ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001, Blue Angel, RAL, and RecyClass, underscoring its commitment to environmental stewardship and product excellence.
A Strategic Alignment for a Sustainable Future
This acquisition marks a significant step for Cedo in its mission to lead the circular economy within the flexible plastics sector. By integrating Plasta Group into its operations, Cedo now boasts the largest integrated circularity platform for flexible plastic films in Europe. The combined organization will have the capacity to recycle over 200,000 tons of plastic waste annually, producing a range of sustainable products such as plastic bags made with recycled content and other film-based solutions.
Cedo’s CEO, Thierry Navarre, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership:
“Plasta Group’s expertise and shared commitment to sustainability align perfectly with our vision. This partnership strengthens our ability to lead the circular economy in our sector, delivering innovative solutions to our customers and driving a more sustainable future.”
With this acquisition, Cedo enhances its leadership position across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Scandinavia, positioning itself to meet the growing demand for circularity in flexible plastics. The expanded capabilities will enable Cedo to offer a broader portfolio of innovative and sustainable solutions, reinforcing its role as a global leader in the sector.
Combining Expertise for Seamless Integration
Cedo and Plasta Group are committed to ensuring a smooth integration process while maintaining their focus on exceptional quality and customer service. This partnership not only strengthens their combined ability to innovate but also creates new opportunities to drive the industry forward toward a more sustainable future.
