“Brenntag Expands North American Operations with Acquisition of Industrial Chemicals Corporation in Denver, Colorado
Brenntag, the global leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution, has completed the acquisition of Industrial Chemicals Corporation (ICC) in Denver, Colorado. This strategic move aims to bolster Brenntag’s last mile service capabilities in North America, particularly in the Colorado region.
Established over six decades ago by the Biesemeier family, ICC has grown into a prominent distributor of industrial commodity chemicals. The acquisition includes ICC’s centrally located facility in Denver, which features extensive storage capacity and direct access to an inland rail terminal.
Scott Leibowitz, President of Brenntag Essentials North America, welcomed ICC’s team, stating, “We are pleased to integrate our new colleagues from ICC into Brenntag Essentials. This acquisition aligns with our strategy to enhance local last mile service operations and strengthen our regional footprint in North America. The Denver location provides a modern site that complements our existing capabilities in sourcing, supply chain management, and global distribution.”
Jamie Biesemeier-Wilkins, CEO of ICC, expressed enthusiasm about joining Brenntag, saying, “For nearly 70 years, ICC has been dedicated to serving our customers with excellence. Partnering with Brenntag allows us to expand our reach and deliver enhanced value to our local and regional clientele.”
In 2023, ICC reported annual revenues of $40 million. The acquisition, which was signed and closed simultaneously, underscores Brenntag’s commitment to expanding its market presence in North America. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.”
