Phospholutions Sees Growth as Spring Adoption Rises

Phospholutions Achieves Significant Growth as Spring Adoption Increases

Phospholutions, a fertilizer technology company focused on improving the efficiency, performance, and sustainability of phosphorus fertilizers, today announced a year of notable commercial growth as it moves into its next phase of adoption. The milestones come at a critical time for the agricultural sector, as phosphorus has been designated a U.S. critical mineral. With supply increasingly constrained and price volatility on the rise, there is a growing demand for technologies that help growers maximize nutrient efficiency.

The company’s growth underscores the increasing need for tools that deliver measurable results in the field. As farmers prepare for the upcoming spring planting season, input costs and operating budgets remain under pressure, driving interest in solutions that provide both economic and environmental value. Phospholutions’ patented RhizoSorb® technology helps address this need by improving phosphorus use efficiency, enabling crops to access more of the applied nutrient. When used as a replacement for conventional phosphorus fertilizers, RhizoSorb allows growers to get more value from every pound applied.

Expansion and Adoption

Phospholutions has marked several key achievements as adoption of RhizoSorb grows ahead of the 2026 season:

  • The company surpassed 1 million acres treated with RhizoSorb in commercial crop production last season, a milestone that demonstrates the scalability and performance of the technology just two years into commercial sales.
  • Field performance has been validated through more than 700 trials across crops including corn, soy, and wheat, as well as five years of on-farm, large-scale data spanning 18 U.S. states. These trials showed statistically significant corn yield gains, with an average increase of 1.6% even at a 50% reduction in phosphorus application.
  • Phospholutions secured three phosphate manufacturing partners to ensure consistent supply and expand production capacity.
  • Regulatory progress continues, with RhizoSorb receiving a Beneficial Substance designation from the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO) and tentative approval for Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer status.
  • The company expanded its intellectual property portfolio with two new U.S. patents issued in early 2026, bringing the total to 11 independent patent families across 100 countries. This portfolio is reinforced by trade secrets, trademarks, and extensive technical expertise.
  • International growth accelerated with shipments to Canada and Brazil, along with trial sites and market development activities across 13 countries in Latin America and six additional global markets already in progress.
  • Leadership and governance were strengthened with key appointments and promotions, and plans are underway to hire a commercial leader in Brazil to support regional expansion.

Leadership Perspective

“This past year marked a step-change for Phospholutions, from proving performance to scaling adoption,” said Hunter Swisher, CEO and Founder of Phospholutions. “We’ve validated RhizoSorb across crops and geographies, strengthened our manufacturing foundation, and expanded market access in the U.S. and internationally. Heading into the 2026 season, our focus is execution at scale by expanding availability through our partners and delivering measurable value for growers, acre by acre.”

Strengthened Leadership and Governance

To support its next phase of growth, Phospholutions reinforced its leadership team and governance structure. Justin Archibee was appointed Chief Financial Officer, Michael Castiglione was elevated to Chief Operating Officer, and Steve Levitsky became Chief Administrative and Sustainability Officer. Additionally, Julia Andrus joined as Marketing and Communications Manager, and Weston Heide of The Andersons was added to the Board of Directors.

These leadership enhancements position the company to better manage scale, support global expansion, and continue advancing the adoption of its technology.

Investor Confidence

Suyash Bulchandani, Vice President of Conti Ventures, Continental Grain Company, an investor in Phospholutions, stated, “We believe that Phospholutions has moved from a promising, innovative company to one capable of scalable execution. The company has demonstrated performance at commercial scale and strengthened production capability to meet demand. It continues to build defensibility through intellectual property and strong execution. We’re looking forward to supporting Phospholutions as it enters its next stage of growth and expands access for growers across markets.”

With the upcoming 2026 growing season, Phospholutions is focused on expanding the availability of RhizoSorb through its manufacturing partners while continuing to provide measurable benefits to farmers. The combination of proven field performance, strong intellectual property protection, and growing international presence positions the company for continued growth.
