Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT) has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, highlighting significant strides in advancing its sustainability commitments. The report details Cabot’s progress in meeting its 2025 Sustainability Goals and outlines strategies to foster a more sustainable global environment. Developed according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and in alignment with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the report underscores Cabot’s dedication to transparency and responsible corporate citizenship.

Key highlights from the report include:
- Industry-Leading Safety Performance: Under the “Drive to Zero” initiative, Cabot has set a goal of achieving zero injuries at its facilities globally. In 2023, Cabot achieved an industry-leading Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.20, placing it among the top-performing manufacturing companies.
- 2025 Sustainability Goals: Cabot made significant strides towards its sustainability objectives, surpassing nine of its 2025 Sustainability Goals ahead of schedule. In 2023, the company reduced its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 330,000 metric tons (MT) CO2e compared to 2022. Cabot also avoided nearly 600,000 MT CO2e emissions associated with energy product exports.
- Innovations for Sustainability: Through its “Creating for Tomorrow” strategy, Cabot is developing innovative products and processes aimed at fostering a sustainable future. In 2023, Cabot launched the EVOLVE® Sustainable Solutions platform, scaling up sustainable reinforcing carbons and other performance materials.
- Global Certifications: Cabot achieved International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS at seven global sites within nine months. This certification enables Cabot to integrate circular value chains and certified feedstocks into its manufacturing processes, offering more sustainable products.
