kzoNobel’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards and delivering exceptional customer service has earned its powder coatings site in Como, Italy, prestigious recognition from the automotive industry.
The Como site, which recently underwent a significant capacity expansion, has achieved the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949 certification. This certification, awarded after a comprehensive third-party audit, acknowledges superior product quality and customer satisfaction.
IATF 16949 is the global technical specification and quality management standard for the automotive industry, emphasizing continuous improvement, defect prevention, and waste reduction within the automotive supply chain.
“We’re very proud that our Como site has received this certification,” says Jeff Jirak, Director of AkzoNobel’s Powder Coatings business. “With this achievement, we now have three certified powder sites in Europe—following Arnsberg in Germany and Izmir in Türkiye—demonstrating our unwavering commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.”
As AkzoNobel’s largest powder coatings facility, the Como site’s recent expansion, completed early this year, included the installation of two cutting-edge lines for automotive primers and two for architectural coatings.
