The Chemours Company, a global leader in the chemistry industry, has recently launched Ti-Pure™ TS-6706, a TMP- and TME-free version of its flagship universal titanium dioxide (TiO2) grade, Ti-Pure™ R-706. This new product is designed to meet the evolving regulatory climate and customer needs while maintaining the high-quality standards that Chemours is known for.
The Development of Ti-Pure™ TS-6706
As the industry’s trusted TiO2 partner, Chemours has been listening to customers and creating alternate formulations without sacrificing quality, consistency, and reliability. Diane Picho, Interim President of Chemours Titanium Technologies, expressed her excitement about the launch of Ti-Pure™ TS-6706, stating that it is the latest example of their world-class research and development team’s efforts to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Ti-Pure™ TS-6706 is part of the Chemours Ti-Pure™ Sustainability Series (TS), which focuses on innovations across four pillars: circularity, climate impact, health and wellness, and resource efficiency. The development of this new product is a testament to Chemours’ commitment to sustainability and innovation in the TiO2 market.
Key Features of Ti-Pure™ TS-6706
Ti-Pure™ TS-6706 can be used as a drop-in replacement for Ti-Pure™ R-706 with minimal reformulation efforts. It retains the same physical properties that make the original so universal in the coatings industry, such as high gloss, excellent durability, blue undertone, hiding power, and easier dispersion and wet-in. These critical properties are also available through Ti-Pure™ TS-6706, making it an ideal choice for formulators who require flexible uses in waterborne, solvent-borne, and powder formulations.
High Gloss and Durability
One of the key features of Ti-Pure™ TS-6706 is its high gloss and excellent durability. These properties make it an ideal choice for applications where appearance is critical, such as architectural and industrial paint systems. The high gloss ensures that the coating maintains its shine and luster over time, while the excellent durability ensures that the coating remains intact and resistant to wear and tear.
Blue Undertone and Hiding Power
Another important feature of Ti-Pure™ TS-6706 is its blue undertone and hiding power. The blue undertone gives the coating a more vibrant and appealing appearance, while the hiding power ensures that the underlying surface is completely covered, providing a uniform and consistent finish. These properties make Ti-Pure™ TS-6706 an ideal choice for applications where a high-quality finish is required.
Testing and Evaluation of Ti-Pure™ TS-6706
To ensure optimal performance and ability to meet exacting customer requirements, Ti-Pure™ TS-6706 was tested in both architectural and industrial paint systems, both solvent and water-based. The impact of the new product on critical parameters like viscosity stability of the liquid paint and color, gloss, tinting strength, hiding power, and mechanical strength of the coating after application was also evaluated.
Since TMP plays a critical role in the bulk flow of the dry pigment, extensive testing of the flow behavior at lab scale and in silo were also carried out. The results of these tests showed that Ti-Pure™ TS-6706 performs just as well as Ti-Pure™ R-706, if not better, in all aspects.

Customers can learn more about Ti-Pure™ TS-6706 by visiting Chemours at booth 5-265 during the European Coatings Show beginning March 25th. Additional product information is available on Ti-Pure.com, and a free sample can also be requested.
Chemours is committed to providing its customers with the highest quality products and solutions. With the launch of Ti-Pure™ TS-6706, Chemours continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the TiO2 market.
