Extensive Experience in Technology and Sustainability
Joe Kava currently serves as Vice President of Data Centers at Google (NASDAQ: GOOG), where he has played an instrumental role in shaping the company’s global data center operations. His responsibilities at Google have encompassed a wide range of critical functions, including site selection, design, construction management, power procurement, engineering, facility and hardware applications, and environmental health and safety initiatives. Under his leadership, Google’s data centers have gained a reputation as some of the most advanced, energy-efficient, and sustainable facilities in the technology sector.
A staunch advocate for sustainability, Joe has led efforts to incorporate environmentally responsible practices into the operations of Google’s data centers worldwide. His work in this area aligns seamlessly with Chemours’ commitment to innovation and sustainable practices, particularly in areas such as data center cooling and high-performance computing, where Chemours’ products play a pivotal role.

Diverse Leadership Experience
Before joining Google, Joe Kava served as Chief Operating Officer at RagingWire Enterprise Solutions, a premier provider of enterprise-grade data center solutions and connectivity services. During his tenure, Joe was responsible for overseeing the design, construction, facility operations, managed services, business planning, and development functions. His work contributed to the company’s reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable data center solutions.
Joe’s earlier career includes a notable 17-year tenure in the semiconductor industry, where he worked at LSI Logic and Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for the semiconductor, flat panel display, and photovoltaic industries. At these organizations, he held various technical and executive roles, gaining expertise in process and product development, new product introductions, engineering operations, business development, general management, and IT operations. This diverse background equips Joe with a unique perspective on the intersection of technology, operations, and innovation.
Academic and Community Contributions
Joe Kava holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. His contributions to the field are further demonstrated by his achievement of four U.S. patents for advancements in reactive ion and plasma etch technology.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Joe is an active participant in community and philanthropic initiatives. He currently serves on the boards of two prominent nonprofit organizations: The Sean Brock Foundation and The Tech Interactive.
