The PCC Group has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art chlor-alkali facility at Chemours’ titanium dioxide (TiO2) manufacturing site in DeLisle, Mississippi, USA. This strategic partnership includes a chlorine supply agreement between PCC and Chemours, contingent on customary conditions being met. The new facility is expected to enhance production efficiency and meet growing market demands.
Facility Overview and Objectives
The chlor-alkali plant will feature cutting-edge technology designed to optimize energy efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. Upon completion, the facility is projected to achieve an annual production capacity of 340,000 metric tons. In addition to chlorine, a primary focus of the plant, caustic soda will also be produced as a co-product. PCC plans to market the caustic soda to strategic partners and distribute it in the open market.
Construction and Operational Timeline
The construction of the facility is slated to commence in early 2026, with the plant anticipated to become operational by 2028. This project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, including up to 1,200 temporary jobs during the construction phase and full-time positions for skilled workers upon completion.
