The Philadelphia Eagles and Braskem have launched the “Tackling STEM” program for the 2024-2025 academic year, continuing their collaboration to support STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education for students in the Greater Philadelphia area. The program, aimed at middle school students, is set to reach up to 10,000 students this year and is designed to provide free digital and hands-on interactive STEM learning opportunities. Over 20 schools are participating, with support from Science of Sport, a nonprofit organization that uses sports to teach STEM concepts.
The initiative is focused on addressing learning loss, fostering STEM interest, and introducing students to potential careers in these fields. It also offers professional development for teachers and organizes STEM field trips to local destinations like Lincoln Financial Field, where students will engage in interactive activities and experience a unique educational tour of the stadium.
The program builds on the Eagles and Braskem’s long-standing commitment to community development and educational advancement. Since its inception in 2018, the partnership has reached nearly 15,000 students across the region. Braskem’s involvement is particularly significant, as the company is deeply invested in sustainable innovation and sees the importance of nurturing the next generation of STEM professionals.
Mark Nikolich, CEO of Braskem America, emphasized that the Tackling STEM program strengthens students’ access to STEM subjects and career opportunities, inspiring a future generation of leaders. This initiative is part of Braskem’s broader mission to contribute to sustainable solutions and support the communities where it operates, particularly in sectors critical to economic development like healthcare, transportation, and housing.
