SCS Technologies Appoints Will Taylor as Director of Engineering

SCS Technologies (SCS), a leading provider of CO2 measurement systems, methane vapor recovery units, and petroleum LACT units, has announced the appointment of Will Taylor as its new Director of Engineering. Taylor brings over 20 years of extensive experience in product design, project management, manufacturing, and quality assurance within both onshore and offshore environments.

“Will’s extensive background in oil and gas production engineering, combined with his passion for leveraging technology to enhance existing products and systems, makes him the perfect fit to lead SCS’s engineering initiatives,” said Cody Johnson, CEO of SCS Technologies. “As we focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences through advanced digitization, intelligent automation, and AI-driven processes, Will’s expertise will be crucial in propelling our innovation efforts.”

Prior to joining SCS, Taylor held the position of engineering manager at NOV, where he was responsible for offshore surface, subsea, and land equipment related to blowout preventer (BOP) control systems. During his time at NOV, he gained extensive experience in the design, manufacturing, and quality inspection of various onshore and offshore equipment, including subsea umbilicals, hydraulic power units, skids, winches, tensioners, and cranes. Taylor’s strengths in process and project planning also allowed him to manage large capital expenditure projects involving the procurement, commissioning, and installation of new equipment.

Earlier in his career, as a mechanical engineer at CraneWorks, Inc., Taylor led engineering and project management efforts for large super-lift crawler cranes, offshore pedestal cranes, and smaller knuckle-boom and telescopic cranes.

“I’m excited to join SCS Technologies at such a crucial time as we embark on a transformative digital initiative aimed at enhancing customer experiences,” Taylor said. “While I will leverage my extensive engineering background, this role presents new challenges and opportunities that I am eager to embrace. I look forward to driving innovations that will redefine industry standards and create lasting value for our clients.”

Taylor comes to SCS with a robust set of certifications and expertise, including:

  • Advanced Quality Management: Proficient in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Process Optimization: Skilled in 5S, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Industry Compliance: Knowledgeable in DNVGL, API, ASME, ISO 9001, OSHA, LOLER, PUWER, and DOT standards.
  • Engineering Expertise: Demonstrated capability in structural, mechanical, and lifting engineering calculations.

This strategic skill set positions Taylor to drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead innovative engineering solutions across SCS Technologies’ product portfolio.
