The Arkema–Académie des Sciences Prize, presented by the French Académie des Sciences and funded by Arkema with a €25,000 grant, recognizes outstanding research in innovative chemistry that advances sustainable and responsible development.
This year’s award goes to Professor Markus Antonietti, whose research spans a broad array of fields in both organic and inorganic chemistry. His work focuses on the organization of matter at the nanometric scale and its practical applications. This includes the development of novel carbon structures with catalytic properties, micro-emulsions, and self-organizing polymers that exhibit unique features such as enhanced impact resistance or self-healing capabilities. Professor Antonietti has authored more than 650 research papers, underscoring his significant contributions to the field.
