Sustainable Acrylics, Alcohols, Glycol Ethers, and Acetates from BASF Now Available

BASF has achieved ISCC+ certification at all its major global production sites for Acrylics, Alcohols, Glycol Ethers, and Acetates, marking a significant milestone in supporting customers’ sustainability goals. This certification allows BASF to produce over 60 products within this portfolio with various sustainability attributes.

In addition to the classic high-quality and reliable products, most of the portfolio now includes options with one or more sustainability features. These include ‘Low-PCF’ and ‘Zero-PCF’ products, which reduce the product carbon footprint and support greenhouse gas reduction targets. ‘Bio-based’ products, partially made from biomass and traceable via the 14C method, and Ccycled® products, made from chemically recycled raw materials like plastic waste or end-of-life tires, promote a circular economy. Additionally, products ‘Made using Green Power’ emphasize BASF’s commitment to renewable energy, further reducing the environmental impact of the production process.

Martin Liedemit, Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Business Development Petrochemicals at BASF, stated, “With BASF’s extensive global and versatile asset footprint, we can offer products with various sustainability attributes. Over the past few years, we have implemented measures that enable us to provide solutions supporting our customers worldwide in achieving their sustainability targets and ambitions.
